Cooking a traditional, vegetarian Christmas dinner
If you’re a traditionalist at heart and want your family to experience a classic Christmas meal without the meat, have no fear! There are many ways to achieve a vegetarian or vegan Christmas. If you’re a gourmet in the kitchen, than these recipes and meal planning ideas will be a great fit:

•Main entree: Instead of the traditional holiday turkey, ham, goose, or roast beef, try something new using tofu protein and other healthy ingredients. Online recipes abound: Stuffed Tofu Roast, Tofu Turkey, Tofu Ham, Oven-baked Marinated Tempeh, Soy and Seitan “Turkey”, Holiday Tofu Loaf, or Southern Baked Tofu. Alternatively, you can buy a pre-made imitation roast (turkey or ham) and jazz it up with these unique twists (deep fried, maple-roasted, or ginger garlic).
•Cranberry sauce: Nothing says Christmas like cranberry sauce, but did you know that some canned options contain gelatin? Gelatin is derived from boiling down the bones, connective tissue, organs, and some intestines of animals, so if you’re aiming for vegan, buy gelatin-free, or make your own: Cranberry Sauce with Orange and Cinnamon, Grand Marnier Cranberry Sauce, Cranberry Sauce with Port and Dried Figs, or Jellied Cranberry Sauce.
•Mashed potatoes and yams: Whip up some dairy-free mashed potatoes and forgo the animal products with these delicious options: Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Herb Mashed Potatoes, and Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. And, if you’re making marshmallow-topped sweet potato pie, top this year’s with vegan marshmallows (most brands contain gelatin).
•Stuffing: Instead of stuffing a bird or roast, build your own dressing and stuff it in a squash or cook it in a crock pot. Check out these tasty alternatives: Neo-Classical Dressing with Apricots and Prunes in a Pumpkin, Wild Rice and Mushroom Stuffing, or Kamut Berry, Spelt Berry, and Wild Rice Stuffing.
•Gravy: Smother your mashed potatoes and carrots in tasty vegetarian gravy, made from a pre-packaged spice pack or from scratch: Cashew Gravy, Mushroom-miso-mustard Gravy, Nutritional Yeast Gravy, Red Wine and Shallot Gravy, or Portobello Madeira Gravy.
•Yule logs, plum pudding, and fruit cake: Finish off your Christmas meal with some sustainable treats, baked using organic, fair trade, and vegan ingredients.

The sea buckthorn (oblepiha) and the pine nuts:

The hilling ability of the sea buckthorn (oblepiha) became well knowing during the last years. Oblepiha enriches nutrient levels in soil. Its berries are rich in vitamin C (a single sea buckthorn berry has 50 times the vitamin C of an entire orange. Along with vitamin C the sea buckthorn has chock-full of omega-3 fatty acids and carotene, which helps with the conversion of nutrients to vitamin A, and gives the berries their colour.

If you passing Siberia during September you can have the fresh buckthorn for 1 $ for 250 gr.

The just beauty- vegan cosmetics products

I remember that 12 years ago while I recognized in the first time what actually the animal testing is I was shocked. All this years I`m carefully not buying cosmetics products which are manufactured by companies that doing animal testing. It is very simple to distinguish companies that against animal testing by small painting of rabbit. It is not a challenge to bye bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner or body cream from animal friendly companies.
I find out that it is much more difficult to choose toiletries and decorative cosmetics by this criteria only.
I have oily problematic skin. Already few years I’m using products of Magiray, Israeli cosmetic company which is against animal testing. Last week I had serious dilemma after I got few testers from very well-known cosmetics company and those products were perfect for my skin. I didn’t found the small rabbit on the packaging… I exerted during this week and almost bought these products. Finally, the decision was made… I will not stop in Duty Free today. Tomorrow in Moscow I’ll pass in Body Shop and Lush, two companies that not just against animal testing but in addition their products are vegan. These two companies are not presented in Israel. Some Israelis confused with not original Body Shop.
I happy with my decision because in addition to justice with animals Body Shop declares community trade, environmental justice and they even against unattainable ideal of beauty. Regarding the Lush, I found my shampoo, my body cream and soap there. Their products all vegan and madden from fresh organic fruits and vegetables, essential oils.

P. S. I just recognised that my mascara, which is perfect, madden by company that doing animal testing…

Best Wrinkle Creams Contain Matrixyl 3000

If you are looking around the web for the best wrinkle cream, chances are you have read all sorts of hype and information about which wrinkle creams can get rid of wrinkles on contact. Well, it’s probably a point of interest to most people to point out that wrinkles will never go away on contact, in fact they can only be “reduced in appearance.” However, if you are concerned with facial wrinkles, there are a few things you can look for in an anti wrinkle cream that will essentially put you on the right track to get rid of wrinkles.

Always look for potent peptide ingredients when you look for anti aging wrinkle creams. The best wrinkle creams contain matrixyl 3000, a popular, effective laboratory-tested ingredient. If you are serious about wrinkles, you need to also treat your skin well with a daily moisturizer. The use of these products in tandem will not only reduce wrinkle depth but also help rejuvenate the skin. If you are having trouble in your search for a wrinkle cream, check out popular review blogs, such as anti wrinkle cream reviews.

Diet Pills

My acquaintance Acai berry has begun in Brazil but then I still did not know about its wonderful properties. Scientists have opened a secret of a berry of Asai only in 2004.The berry for today wins first place among all vegetation by its antioxidant properties. With my interest to healthy food I couldn’t miss such a remarkable plant. So, what can we learn about Acai berry.

Euterpe Oleracea
Euterpe badiocarpa, Cabbage palm, Euterpe palm, multistemmed assai palm, Palisade palm
Berry has the unusual taste reminding taste of a raspberry or a blackberry with smack of a nut. Acai oil is very strange looking it is liquid, greenish, with very weak nut smell.
The berry is rich with the antioxidants, necessary fatty acids (Omega 3, 6 and 9), vitamins and minerals, fibers, amino acids, micro minerals, a complex of carbohydrates.

Acai comprises in 30 times more antioxidants and at 10-20 times more anthocyianins, than red wine has them. The berry is very calorific (in 100gr is 182 kcal), contains the same quantity of proteins, as well as cow milk. It is especially rich with iron, vitamins ?1 and E. Also it’s notable for low level of cholesterol, strengthens immune system, promotes regeneration of muscles (that especially important for sportsmen), has the general toning up an effect, is recommended to those who have an anemia.
Some time Acai remained fruit of exclusively local consumption, then, thanks to the unusual nutritious properties, and present “boom of health”, has extended across all Brazil and the beginnings successfully to win the western and European countries.
They eat it fresh. Also make of them juice, wines, liquors, cocktails, ice-cream, various desserts, with addition of sugar, honey and other fruit. All it looks wonderfully. But it is necessary to learn about opinion of opponents of special Acai Berry Diet or using acai in diet pills. Special researches show, that everything is not as simple as it seems. We can try, we can decide.

Gourmet Popcorn Makes The Perfect Gift

Let’s face it: gift giving is difficult. Whether you are trying to give a gift that is personal without being too personal or are trying to buy for someone you don’t know that well, it can be hard to figure out exactly what to give. Gourmet popcorn can be a life-saver in these situations, because it is the gift that just about anyone will love. A popcorn gift is perfect because:

1) Gourmet flavored popcorn is perfect for any age group. The young and the young at heart love popcorn. Children love to eat popcorn, adults love it, and even hard-to-shop for teens love to settle down with a favorite movie and a bag of delicious popcorn.

2) Gourmet popcorn is perfect for any occasion. Going to a house-warming party? Gourmet popcorn is ideal for a new homeowner who probably wants to unwind from moving with a sweet treat. A sudden birthday party? A beautiful popcorn gift is sure to please. Popcorn even makes an attractive business or corporate gift.

3) Just about everyone loves popcorn. Popcorn reminds us of summer fairs and amusement parks, of hours spent watching movies with friends and family. Most of us have very positive and pleasant associations with popcorn and that’s why we love to receive it as a gift.

4) Popcorn is a useful gift. Just about everyone loves to eat, so a popcorn gift is sure to be gobbled up – literally. You also don’t have to worry about size or color when picking out popcorn gifts – these gifts fit everyone on all occasions.

5) You can personalize a popcorn gift by buying the perfect flavor. From traditional buttered popcorn to sweet chocolate covered popcorn to savory cheese popcorn and many flavors in between, you can pick out the perfect present for your recipient. You can also wrap your gifts up in a specific way that might be special to your gift recipient or you might want to hand-pick a selection of popcorn flavors.

6) Popcorn fits any lifestyle. Popcorn is healthy and perfect for those who don’t want rich treats. It is an environmentally-conscious gift choice, too, since it does not add to the pollution of the planet. If your gift recipient loves the outdoors, he or she can take a popcorn treat with them. If your gift recipient loves TV or the movies, popcorn is the obvious choice.

My daily vegan diet

I’m already one week staying in Siberia and spending my time in searching vegan products with high nutrition value. As a basis for all dishes I use season locally grown vegetables. Unfortunately, there’s still no such concept as organic products here and I buy all vegetables in the city market. I personally believe that small home farm will use fewer chemicals because of its costs therefore I prefer to buy vegetables and herbage from old ladies, that sitting on the short chairs around the market and bus stations. Of cause I may be wrong.
While I staying in Novosibirsk (the center of Siberia region) my daily ration include:
tomatoes, beetroot and beet leaves, cucumber, egg-plant, lettuce, coriander, parsley and young carrot. All this vegetables I use both in fresh daily salad and in hot borsch as well. As a sauce for salad I use flax oil, which is very reach in Omega 3 and its all natural and plant based. The local Siberia Oil Company (this company specialization is edible oil only) are use to add to flax oil ginger, carrot and other additions.
As a main dish I use buckwheat, rise, boiled green beans or red beans, lentils or hummus. For the desert I eat some fruits, kiwi for instance.
I checked the Daily Nutrition Value of my ration and the conclusion is that I have more than enough vitamins, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin B, B6, B1 (Thiamin) and B2. I’m ok with Omega3, Magnesium, Manganese, Potassium, Proteins, Dietary Fibers. Regarding Iron and Calcium. I have 95% of needed daily Iron and 49% of calcium. So, calcium is still an issue. What I’m adding for calcium is soy milk manufactured by Alpro with adds of calcium and eating some musly or other products that contents sesame which is reach in calcium.

Vegetarian restaurant in Moscow

Close to Chistie Prudy (Chistiprudniy Bulvar 12) and on Tverskaya 5, in the very center of Moscow you can find two branches of the vegetarian restaurant “Avocado”.
Avocado restaurant
In “Avocado” cafe, the primary rules of vegetarian cuisine are observed. Only ecologically clean products are used. Water is taken from the cleanest natural sources. The utensils never touch any animal food. In “Avocado” dessert neither eggs nor gelatin is used.
On the menu are dishes whose recipes have been collected all over the world: national oriental, European and eastern Slavic dishes. Next to eastern dish “Kichri” you can find Sicilian Broccoli and Belarus Potato Draniki. There is a special section for those who observe Lenten.
In the menu I found fusion dishes with the different “awaken grains”. Unfortunately, they exist in the menu only…
I tried hot spinach salad, saute in the pot and baked apple for the dessert.

Moscow vegan news and soy products

There is something new happened in Moscow supermarkets! In 7th Continent chain I founded few soy products by Bis company: Soy pasta cheese, Tofu in Russian version, chocolate paste, phyto yogurt in different tests- cherry, peach and others. All this products is Tofu that has a very soft texture.

Soy pasta cheese:
Soy pasta cheese

Tofu:
Tofu
All this products are not expensive (0.5 $ for 200 gr.)

Advantages of the soy products
For those who don`t know what good in soy products I want to list here some facts. Soya beans are the most nutritious of all the beans since they contain essential Omega 3 fatty acids, amino acids, phyto estrogens, proteins, minerals, and vitamins. Soya constitutes as an excellent source of proteins that reduced arterial pressure and elevated levels of cholesterol. Soya is an excellent source of many minerals and it also contains additional calcium since calcium chloride is used in its production.

I`s soy healthy?
I have to mention, that there is some research on the dangers of soy products. I believe that the truth as always is in the middle. I decided after long period of time that I used a lot of soy product to reduce the amount and use it when I have no other vegan options of proteins. I`m using it while I`m travelling and it helps me to solve the problem of luck of options. I`m also use the soy milk on the daily basis but only very small amount- 1 liter for 1,5 weeks. What about you? What is your opinion on soy products?
